The budget Greenhouse (picture heavy)

As I said in my introduction, a big part of prepping to me is the ability to grow my own but I am not one of natures gardeners, so for me this is a learing expereince.
I started off with the donated frame of a Greenhouse and some glass.


Next door demolished their shed so I used the wood for a floor and the sides which don't catch the sun



then the glass, and some clear plastic was scrounged up...Youtube tutorials taught me how to use a glass cutter.



First crop of tomatoes and peppers, only a few but a immense sense of pride and they do taste better than shop brought



its still a work in progress...some final finishing to be done some guttering needs connecting to the waterbutt. But total cost has been £20 for 2 packs of wooden battons, plus a further £10 for some waterproof paint before the winter comes in.

Thanks guys.
We lived in a rental for 10 years and I had a couple of those poly tent type greenhouses, they worked ok but my growing experements never came to antyhing because of the slug problem we had, plus they didnt cope well with the extremes of Welsh winds, I ended up holding them down with pallets and rope-plus the zips blew out.
When we moved to this more stable place I'd always promised myself a proper greenhouse, after a bit of wrangling with the Housing Association they allowed me to have one.

Can I suggest you paint the wood black or another dark colour as dark colours absorb heat helping to keep the greenhouse warm in winter. Of course this means it might get too hot in summer

That's really great! Doesn't matter that the first crop is small, what matters is you've got the makings of a great system, and you're getting experience in growing.
