rechargibg rechargeable batteries

Post by 7 lives »

Probably a daft question-is there any way I can recharge rechargeable batteries not using mains electricity?
I use a nebuliser which runs off either the mains or batteries. When we have power cuts the batteries don't last long at all.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can get rechargeable chargers that are powered by either usb or 12v cigarette lighters, you can also get small solar panels to recharge usb powered devices, combine the two and voila !

You can also keep a healthy supply of rechargeable batteries on the go. Either put insulating tap across the 'ends' or keep them in some of these for whenever you need them.

Hope this helps.

7 lives what batteries do it use i.e how many volts and what composition I.e. lead acid, NImh these all affect recommendations.

as a mininmum you will need a solar panel, a charge controller and various cables. ALSO battery to store the power generated, then a means of charging the batteries This will give you a fairly flexible sysytem

100 watt panels start around £100 on amazon

Try these for a solar or even hybrid charging kit http://www.renytek.co.uk/

I've got a similar solar system, albeit only 30W, but I'm very impressed and have plans to expand it.

I'll be buying from these guys next, seem very good value.

Maplin also do an aa/aaa battery charger which has a car power socket plug on it, that would be a piece of cake to connect up to a solar kit.
