Pound shop led head torches.

Post by sniper 55 »

I've noticed the local pound shops are selling led head torches. They are big-ish and cheaply made (the elastic headband ir very poor) but they give a good strong beam and the only cost a pound (mine was 99p) the ones I found use three AA batteries and last a good while.
Could be handy for emergency lights around the house or in the car, or in your cache maybe, they could even be used to barter if things go belly up.

I got one of these in a Christmas stocking about 3 years ago. It falls apart every so often but easily goes back together and as sniper says it has a good strong beam - mine lives in the car as it's particularly handy for faffing about under the bonnet in the dark.

Bought one back in may, still works just fine I've had no problems: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=11958
If at first you don't succeed, excessive force is usually the answer.

I've got one in my Car/GHB as it's not likely to be for long-term use and might just come in handy. It puts out a decent amount of light and there is a spare set of batteries in the bag as well just in case.

That one looks a lot higher quality than my one. I think I will keep my eye out for a replacement

A head torch is pretty much a must have if you want to change a wheel in the dark!

Sounds pretty good. I just bought a petzl one for £10! I'm pretty happy with it, but hopefully it will be worth 10x the price, lol. At least it came with batteries supplied.
