Thank you Deeps! I popped over there straight away, and subscribed to two, Linda's Pantry and Our Half Acre Homestead. I do like having written details from good sources, but the videos are brilliant/quote]

I love Mrs V, she is fantastic, saved me so many times when first dehydrating food, if I'm stuck she is my first port of call and she does reply! Noreen's kitchen is another good one (if you can ignore her speaking with her mouth full :? ) Michigan Snow Pony is good too!
Behind every great man is an even greater woman. She carried you, raised you and made you who you are.

As I was fresh out of breakfast foods, I made myself chickpea "scrambled eggs" from dry chickpeas that had been soaked overnight. Decided as I make "breads" from chickpeas and Urid Dal lentils that it would be worth while getting tools to make these cheap foods (made with long lasting dry ingredients) with greater ease. So I have ordered an electric waffle iron.

I have purchased a copy of Grow Your Own Drugs. Herbal medicine has always interested me and I may turn a part of my garden into a 'physic'' garden. Especially as I am getting aches and pains now I am starting to feel like an old git!

picked one up at a charity shop, my GP saw it on a home visit and a discussion on hemp ensued. I dont think he had heard of James Wong. Just picked up the Six Volumes of Made at Home written by Dick Strawbridge and his boy James Strawbridge at Aldi for £2.99 Hardback each the titles are

Made at Home: Eggs & Poultry: Grow, harvest, preserve, cook and make the most of your local produce

Made at Home: Preserves

Made at Home: Breads

Made at Home: Vegetables

Made at Home: Curing and Smoking

Made at Home: Cheese and Dairy

look to be good not read them all yet but I find Dick to be an excellent innovator. Plenty left in my store. 12.99 on Amazon for most titles and 8.99for one title

Am pretty happy with myself today.Just done a stock check and i reckon I now have enough food, fuel,(lamp oil, meths,)batteries and water to last a good 3 months,(longer if rationing) for me,the missus and 2 kids.....Only really started storing and prepping about 6 months ago and by no means are we rich, just buying a little extra each week and when we can.I wouldnt consider my self a ''doomsday type prepper,'' just think its abit of common sense to be able to support yourself and family off grid, if for any reason the SHTF in these very roller coaster times we live in.To be honest, its a very comforting thought, knowing we have these stores.Just a case now of keep adding little by little and stock rotation.

You echo me closely, nzbred. It's a great feeling to know you've done something for yourselves and are not reliant on others. i too am preping for more personal reasons, although hopefully will have a head start if more serious events arrive. It takes the panic out of things for me.

well done!
thought I would have managed to stash away more food preps but those individuals called adult children are like bloodhounds and can hone in on food like exicet missles!

Ive been a little bit lazy on the prepping front lately  so I've decided it's time to get back on the wagon! Bought some extra paracetamol, ibuprofen and indigestion tablets today. Also stocked up on some extra tins of fruit and beans to add to the stores.
