I never bother with the flu Jab, I've had the flu 2 or 3 times in my 29 years and its pretty awful, I survived Swine Flu without Tamiflu and that probably did me more good than harm (my body adapted to deal with future pandemics).

I might be wrong but I think its best to let nature take its course (unless you are vulnerable)

Main reason for pushing vaccinations for kids is that after the flu pandemic they did some serious testing to find out what went on.

Kids got the flu and spread it to others. When they get it they can get very sick.

Everyone in my family gets the flu jab every year - the one year (a few years ago) we didn't we all got terribly ill with the flu.

My daughter had childhood asthma, so she got it from the age of 3 onwards, she has since outgrown the asthma but I still get her the jab/spray because I really do believe it helps prevent getting the flu badly (I say badly, because you may still get a cold or a mild case of the flu, but not as bad as you would if you didn't get the inoculation).

I personally get the jab due to ill health problems.

grandad wrote:I dont have a problem protecting children from illness,in fact I had all my kids innoculated with the usual MMR and such. The flu vaccination is fine for vulnerable people or those of us over a certain age ! but for healthy children ? I am not convinced on this one, thats all.

Two-, three-, and four-year-olds ARE vulnerable people. Flu, proper flu, can make you very sick indeed.

I would never let my children have the Flu jab if you apply reason and ask yourself if you or anyone you know or have even heard of has had a child die of influenza that will answer the question as to should I let my children have an inoculation that is unnecessary.

The research is carried out by the drug companies that sell the medication and is the best guess as to what flue strain could be prevalent if it was a new drug for a disease that was killing off our children then yes I would agree but as I said at the start ask yourself the question above.

Also research the statistical risk of dying of sessional influenza and the risk of complications of the medication my risk is 0.04% per 100k UK population I am a UK healthcare worker and know to do the research and make my own rational decision not just rely on medical propaganda.
