Gas bottle burner
Gas bottle burner
Took me about 18 months to finish this.
Usually just weld a pipe on top like this, when I make them to sell.
Put a baffle in this one which improved it no end no sparking embers now,and welded a lip on the inside of the door .
The top is removable, and got a few spares from work as its quite thin metal but does the job.
Found the galvanised spiral ducting to be a good cheap flue for outside use, just need an extra piece to send the smoke up higher.
Boils a kettle OK,not very quick but gets there.

any chance of a pic of the baffle, im in the middle of making 1, been fighting with the valve last weekend and am aware a baffle will be needed during the build, but cant seem to find a sketch online of where the opening should go when being put together.

Try and get a hold of a book called"wood stoves-and how to use them by Old Wick"butterbean wrote:any chance of a pic of the baffle, im in the middle of making 1, been fighting with the valve last weekend and am aware a baffle will be needed during the build, but cant seem to find a sketch online of where the opening should go when being put together.
Good read, shows you a few ways on how to position your baffle.
I just sliced a bit off the front, seemed to work OK but think it needs some fire cement round it as there's a gap all the way round.
Tip if your struggling with the valve is to saw the valve off flush with the bottle with a hacksaw, its brass so there'll be no sparks. If you can't get into it hacksaw the guard/shroud that goes around it.

I believe the valve is a reverse thread to the normal.
