Red Doe's Cranachan

Post by Red Doe »

Something for a sweet tooth, and ALL the ingredients can be grown or produced in Scotland.
Cranachan. (my way, which means OD on the whisky, sorry  )

In a bowl, whisk two cartons of double cream til soft peak stage.
Dry toast in a pan, a handful of pinhead oatmeal.
In the cream, spoon in as much honey as you like (for this amount of cream I usually use half a jar)
fold in well. Then add your whisky and fold that in.
In the bottom of serving glasses, couple tablespoonfuls Scots raspberries.
Spoon the cream/honey/whisky mix into the glasses on top of the rasps.
Add a spoonful of rasps on top of this whole mix.
Top off with crunchy toasted oatmeal.
Voila! Boozy, sweet, creamy, all in one. Because the post apocalypse doesn`t have to be without sweet things :D

Hi all,

Hope you don't mind us posting here guys!

If you are ever in Glasgow, here's a picture of our modern adaptation of Cranachan (hence no whisky) but it's pretty good nonetheless!

Couple of wee pics to (attempt) make your mouth water ;)

If you are ever in Glasgow, drop by!

The guys @ Cranachan ;)

p.s. I haven't ever had it myself with whisky, is it good?

If you've come along to discuss prepping, then come on in (after posting an intro post in the new members section)
