Well... Got paid what I was owed today. Boss said there was a 'problem ' with some of my overtime. Money docked £200. I didn't lose my rag. Just handed him my notice, and informed him that I would not be working it. The cheeky git tried to get all legal on me. I told him that along with the notice, owed holiday pay and the overtime, I would see him at the tribunal. He laughed and asked me if I knew what that would cost me to initiate. I told him I did, but the Union was paying so bring it on! At that he offered me 350 quid to walk away. I accepted. So that is that.

Regarding the job, I start in the morning! The new boss checked all my credentials after a chat and a cups. The money is not brilliant but it beats dole. Got to pick up a load in my shiny new Mercedes Sprinter down in Devon tomorrow. It will be a change!

Thank you ladies. As my late Dad used to say," change happens, so adapt ." So true. On a prepping note though, I thoroughly recommend joining a Union. The mere threat of a tribunal sorted my problem on this occasion. Without them I would never be able to afford a tribunal now the rules have changed.

The guy sounds like a chancer, happy to try and intimidate you until you called his bluff. When you countered he buckled and coughed up, he sounds a charmer, good luck with the Devon run, were you a GUZ rating when you were in the mob mate ? Diamond Lil's is long gone.
