Fanks mate. I actually downloaded that the other week and never used it. :D

The problem with me is that I never know which knot to use for the best. They're all good for different things, innit.

Might spend the evening watching telly playing with my paracord.

I'm no expert, I was the 'wrong' kind of sailor but a reef knot for 2 similar sized ropes (or ends of the same one) and a bowline for anything where safety is vital (like putting a line around a person or whatever) are two simple knots that cover a lot of situations.

Good shout, thanks mate. I've got a webbing belt upstairs, I'll see how that works out. If it does I can get another on eBay for about £2.

That said, I still like the idea of a very thin and light paracord option. Anyone know a good knot to tie two ends together?

Good news! My module is nearly complete. I've found my SAK Spartan which I'm very happy about and my emergency bivvy arrived and has been plonked in there.

But, now, I've lost my Sawyer mini. Great.

I'm thinking of buying another one, but before I do, does anyone know of anything different which is better, different, bigger? I am actually considering the Sawyer Squeeze since it's something that I could attach to a tap and it promises to filter five times more than the mini. But it's £10 more and I'm not sure if it's worth £30 to me considering I'll probably never need it.

Any thoughts?

Once I've completed my bag, I'm going to do a quick YouTube vid of it. Exciting! :D

stick with the mini.... as if you have a tap and a big pop bottle your still in business for bulk filtering a bit of hose (or electrical flex with the centre cores pulled out) lets you keep your clean water container from any drips)
