I love walking my dog in stormy weather, took him up onto Saddleworth Moor for a couple of hours. Really windy and very very wet but not overly cold even with the wind.

I didn't see another soul, all the sheep have been taken down now so I let him off his lead once we got to the top, I forgot about the deer up there  . He was absolutely filthy when we got back to the car, I'd normally send him into a stream to clean him off but most were swollen and I was a bit worried so took him home as was, my wife went ballistic when he jump on the couch.

The Norwegians have a saying that goes something like "There's no such thing as bad weather...just bad clothing". I know it's a personal thing but I love wet and windy weather.

I've chanced it a couple of times recently without waterproof bottoms and got bit in the arse (well a soggy bottom anyway :D ) so I'm out in the full gear at the moment, big worky boots, waterproof bottoms and goretex jacket. As you say, its not cold so I just have a T shirt and light weight walking trousers underneath. I don't know if I'd go as far and yourself as saying I "love it" but if you're dressed for it its a lot more tolerable, I'm out for 4 hours plus a day with them although usually within a 10 minute walk of the house so I don't have to stash too much stuff in my pockets. Its the drying of dogs at the end of it that's the biggest pain, 3 times a day.

It doesn't matter what the weather's like, dogs still need their walks, I'm thinking of chihuahuas next time.

Well, it was pretty wild and wet for a few hours, but no damage in the garden or to the house. :) No power problems either, but I wasn't expecting any, we've never had any interruptions in this area yet so all is good at the Brambles Household. How did everyone else fare?

It was a bit rough but no problems here, no loss of power in our area, but others in Shropshire were not so lucky, also my antenna is still up & looks no worse for it :D

But it does look like ill have my work cut out sweeping up all the leaves once it all settles down. :(

There were a few nasty cracks in the woods by me too, one followed by crashes and a big thump, so somethings come down in the wind.

A fair few branches are down around our way, lights were flickering and dimming most of the evening but no damage to anything to report.

Lights dimming and flickering for most of the evening. Only one branch broken from a tree on the green, didn't notice until looked through window and an area had been cordoned off, now has been taken down wow, how's that for service.

LED lights were placed around the house strategically just in case and there they'll stay.

I love everything about the bad weather aside from the dog drying :| being short haired he's not too bad but he seems to attract mud

A fairly large tree has come down round there now so it must have happened at some point last night I'll have a better look later on I maybe round with my chainsaw over the weekend :D more free fire wood :D everything has calmed down here now still breezy but nothing major and no rain. Incidentally paramo extras on eBay are selling off cascada waterproof trousers for £51 (normally £135) had a pair delivered today far and away the best waterproof clothing Ive ever owned and at that price pretty much unbeatable imo
