trapping. pre made traps ? for crayfish

Post by Paul in swindon »

trapping is a contentious issue to practice without any real need! however I am lucky enough that my house is 300 meters from the upper Thames and is full of these pests!
FIRSTLY! to practice this you must get a permit from the environment agency and its free and these are an excellent source of wild food the better traps are the Swedish basket type traps followed by the sprung net type baited with an old smelly fish bacon fat or for the very best a can of oily mackerel!
who else actively practices trapping
Snares for rabbits etc ??and what have you found to be the best
two is one, one is none. SEEKING LOCAL GROUP !!!!!!!!

Have tried making a crawfish trap from wire mesh, from a good you tube video. not as good as I would have liked.
have a yoyo fishing line trap, but have not tried it out yet.

modified rat traps are excellent low cost traps for filling the pot with squirrels .... good alternative to the more expensive conibear type traps ....

lllinii Warrior, I cannot find an introduction from you in the new member section. If you could pop over and do that, that would be great. Thanks.

I'm trying to find a nice way to put my views on snares forward, but I thought I'd just put this link in instead
http://www.snarewatch.org/about/the-law-and-snaring
and this one
http://www.how-to-hunt-rabbit.com/snaring-laws.html
and then make another cup of coffee
