You're a man after my own heart to be fair, I stick to structured routines myself, been lifting for over 10 years and running about 5-6 and always followed my routines religiously. When I came across this particular workout I found it a good way to break up the repetition by mixing it up with other random workouts and just doing a week of completely random stuff once every 3 months. Good way to loosen up if you hit a plateau too!tanstaafl wrote:But if you do have access to kit I feel its a bit random, I would rather follow a good tried and tested progressive resistance workout, lots to choose from from pure strength training all the way to circuits PHA etc....
Completely not my cup of tea, but I would think something like Crossfit would be best as it gives you a good all round balanced level ........
While it is random in respect of the reps per set and set order it is otherwise fairly predictable. If you use a 50kg barbell for example (no need to go crazy with so many reps lol) and take all face cards as 10 reps you can very predictably say that your overall reps will be 95 per excercise and your total load would be 4750kg per excercise.
It's a right laugh to have a crack at- if you're especially unlucky you'll draw 4 shoulder press face cards in a row. That's some good burn! If you can hold your arms up after that I'll buy you a drink!
