Quite a lot for a first week, but I'm fairly confident I have my first week of stores in place. I'll continue researching (ie reading labels), and experimenting for a while before upping the stores to a month.

Food and bugging in seem straightforward enough. EDC and bugging out seem to need the most thought, and expense.
Good stuff, having an idea of what your priorities are makes it a more streamlined approach, its easy to get carried away if you see or read something that catches your eye and you get 'prep envy'. It sounds like you're going about it the right way though, a weeks worth of food and water is a great place to start from, its stuff we all need. Its unlikely you'll be able to cover all eventualities so (for me anyway) its covering the basics first and then thinking about some of the more exotic or pricey stuff. I think prepping is one of those things that you're never fully satisfied with, there's always that extra something that you want.

Yes, not satisfied with purification tablets, I must have a water filter.
And some more maps, yes, I need all the maps.
And a better SAK, and another torch...

Well I completed the shortbread cookie tree, took 7 hours from start to finish and stands almost a foot tall. Just need the icing to harden and it can be cellowrapped. Tomorrow will be gingerbread men for the local shopkeepers boys and maybe a few to munch on 8-)

Decaff your shortbread tree looks amazing, and reminded me I haven't had breakfast yet :D

I was killing time in B&Q earlier and ended up with 1 of these

http://www.diy.com/departments/torq-300 ... 533_BQ.prd if the charge times work out it could come in handy for more than just the car.. might help out around the house with all the power cuts here recently :)
