The book sounds good, give us a review sometime.
Is the rope 9mm or 12mm?

Yeah tell me about it I made a fleece sack for mine but I'd prefer a proper case, they're about £25 mind you a case won't make it fit in the car any easierraz wrote:Jaguar 175lb crossbow - really need to get a carry case for this as its quite big & awkward :/

2 back packs - 1 small pack im going to use as my new EDC bag and a larger 50 litre pack im going keep in the truck
a bunch of assorted stocking fillers - chunky ferro rod and striker, life straw, several tubs of waterproof matches, bolts & targets, and loads of thermal socks.

It did discolour slightly with the meths burner but it shows no sign of other damage.munchh wrote: I was wondering about that green stuff, so you can heat it up no problem then?

yeah i get your point my friend, i will not do anything that may hurt me. I was looking at doubling up. its more a case of working out how things work, than throwing myself over the edge of something.ForgeCorvus wrote:It did discolour slightly with the meths burner but it shows no sign of other damage.munchh wrote: I was wondering about that green stuff, so you can heat it up no problem then?

OK, I've had a look at that rope. Don't use it as a man rope, even if you're just playing rather then serious climbing.
You'd be safer not using a safety line at all then using something that isn't up to spec.
For a safety line a 10 mm to 11mm Dynamic rope is recommended, for abseiling or prussiking (climbing up the rope) you should use a Static rope of the same sort of size.
8mm to 9mm ropes are called "Half-ropes" and are used paired.
