I had a good haul this christmas as my close friends and family all went with the prepper theme, my new pressies are

Baofeng UV 5R - kinda pointless atm as i didnt get the data cable so waiting on that, and cant seem to find a club close to me to do my amateur licence.

Jaguar 175lb crossbow - really need to get a carry case for this as its quite big & awkward :/

pistol crossbow - i really like this the cocking action makes loading pretty easy

2 back packs - 1 small pack im going to use as my new EDC bag and a larger 50 litre pack im going keep in the truck

a bunch of assorted stocking fillers - chunky ferro rod and striker, life straw, several tubs of waterproof matches, bolts & targets, and loads of thermal socks.

and im not quite sure if it counts as a prepper pressie but a mini drone with camera on it

Yeah tell me about it I made a fleece sack for mine but I'd prefer a proper case, they're about £25 mind you a case won't make it fit in the car any easier

I got an ultrabright LED torch with a focusable beam that can be really "wide angle" and provide a lot of illumination and also be focused down to a pencil thin beam that can go a long way. Its cool.

OK, I've had a look at that rope. Don't use it as a man rope, even if you're just playing rather then serious climbing.
You'd be safer not using a safety line at all then using something that isn't up to spec.

For a safety line a 10 mm to 11mm Dynamic rope is recommended, for abseiling or prussiking (climbing up the rope) you should use a Static rope of the same sort of size.

8mm to 9mm ropes are called "Half-ropes" and are used paired.

yeah i get your point my friend, i will not do anything that may hurt me. I was looking at doubling up. its more a case of working out how things work, than throwing myself over the edge of something.

I will get myself the real stuff at some point.

My best pressure thus year is the fruit press attachment for my Kenwood, will be able to skin and seed tomatoes with it, perfect for canning up to add to my stores. I also got a Lakeland voucher to get more jars with.
