Hey fellow Preppers,
Whilst walking through the woods next to my home i have noticed these berries and wonder if anyone can tell me if they are edible or dangerous.
I have been lead to believe it could be wild sarsaparilla, but due to the bush being around 5-6+ foot im not too sure.
Thanks in advance.

Looks like Laurel to me. Young plant too. That is an evergreen. All evergreens are poison.

Re: Berries
Thank you for your replies and i think you are right it must be ivy, and as the link suggest i do see a lot of birds especially robins eating these.
So i can now add this to the list to avoid.
Thanks again.

Avoid!
I'd recommend the book 'the thrifty forager'. Build up a set of such reference books, and try going foraging with people who know what they are looking for - you can share tips. Don't try anything unless you are pretty sure you know what it is, and are aware of the risk of look-alike plants.
