Trangia liquid stove advice

its good to have alcohol stove for when you run out of gas cans and visa versa.
I have used mine pretty successfully to make tea and heat tinned food in powercuts, but be safe

I've got a couple of these stoves. It was the main cooking method for backpacking for some years. Now I'm past backpacking I still take one out with me. I've even got one at the allotment.

Yes those and the old Primus stoves, they were a PITA to light though as you had to prime them first if I remember rightly.

why not grab a bargin and look second hand, you are going to need a pot stand either way so try this Trangia mini setup, comes with a standard burner as well as a pot stand, pan and lid/frying pan.

just remember it only costs £25 for a new trangia mini, so do over pay for second hand.

have you thought about making one, if you are that way inclined before buying anything?

I have a Trangia set and love it. I use Bio Ethanol rather than meths, don't know why, always have. I have been reading about people carrying spirit cookers or similar in their cars and this got me thinking, so I built one

I bought a replacement Trangia from militarymart a couple of years ago because someone said the originals were dying out.
My original is still going strong but I have the replacement sitting in the stores just in case. To be fair unless I back the car over it I can't see where it could fail, the little fella is more or less bullet proof.
Once you get the knack of the small cooking space you can turn out some fairly decent food.

Is that an Ikea cutlery holder ?
Few angle brackets some roofing bolts ?
And have you used bolts to space the base ?

Looks good , how do you get the spirit burner in and out ?
