I have a chilli plant now in its third year, some green fruit already on it, it lives by the window in an unheated static caravan. The key is to keep it very dry over the darkest months.

I won't be planting veg for a couple of weeks, even in the polytunnel, but have already planted quite a few fruit trees outside. So, if you're looking for something to keep you busy fruit trees or berry canes are good. There's not much better than raspberries straight off the bush and they keep on giving if you keep on mulching.

I found my greenhouse has held me in good stead. Now I've given up smoking I have no use for the room anyway, plants do really well out there even now :D

I normally grow seedlings in the greenhouse late march early may and plant out in may. I normally put my spuds in towards the end of march and keep earthing up as the weather dictates. I neglected to earth up properly once and lost all my earlies to frost.

We've just started to plant our seeds (this year we have covered the greenhouse with mousey bait after last years disaster). I'm trying to get alpha male to do 2 losts of planting to space out the harvest, but he says I'm talking rubbish and it will all come at the same time anyway!

I have invested in some of these this year https://www.burgonandball.com/shop/scripts/prodList.asp as we were so impressed by the knee pads

I'm in awe of the pumpkin seedlings at the moment, they are now so tall they hit the top of the cover overnight and the roots are coming through the bottom of the pots! I've had to take them out of the propagator and re-pot into cut down plastic bottles!!

Still only one courgette flourishing but too many cauliflowers!!

I'm waiting till it gets a bit warmer before planting out the onions and potatoes as we're due a cold snap this weekend. :( Still, it gives us extra time to work on the second bed and maybe even get the third started.
