I have a big river 50 yards from my front door which empties into the estuary about 1/2 hour walk away so fish would be a large part of my diet in the event of any breakdown. A mixture of Fish, the odd Rabbit, stored tins and rice, combined with veg from the garden should hopefully keep me going for a fair while.

He coped well for most of the course, but in the second week he gave them another rabbit, the guy who had first refused nearly tore the rabbit limb from limb.

The reason for his change in attitude, his survival, he was hungry, he hadn't eaten properly for over a week, he needed food intake.
But you see, the guy made a huge mistake of eating at all - my girlfriend just finished a 14 day no food detox + 14 day just liquids = 28 days with water and juice, absolutely no solid food and she felt great the whole time, problems begun when she started to eat solid food after the 28 days (stomach pain). And apparently you can go 40 days with no food, just water. The guy just didn't prepare properly to his survival course.

Unfortunately you don't prepare for such courses where Mr Wiseman is in charge, you get taken on it, at any time he thinks "suitable"no notice given, just like in a "real" survival situation.
