Hello! new prepper and researcher!

Post by EndIsNigh »

Good Morning everyone!

I am currently performing research for an apocalypse simulation game so I'm here to soak up some knowledge with the aim of making the simulation as realistic as possible as well as learning a trick or two for my own personal life.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi! ]

Regards,

Well, we leave it to members to deal with any 'media' types. Your introduction does not endear you as you are openly not a prepper. You have been honest enough to admit you are only taking from us, not contributing, and it is for your own gain.

I didnt come here to misrepresent myself certainly.

I have a deep interest in the subject and although I wouldnt class my self as a prepper at the moment (owing to the fact I havent prepped anything) I felt that getting involved in a community such as this would entice me to do so.

I wouldnt really class myself as a media type, simply someone whos trying to put together a simulation which may in turn be used to educate anyone who uses it.

But fair enough I see your point, off I ****.

Preppers have a deep mistrust of 'researchers ' and 'journalists '. Such folks ( and that is not necessarily you) have a tendency to misrepresent preppers as nutters. Your cool welcome or lack thereof, speaks volumes about previous encounters I am afraid.

I wanted to start out with a small number of options, I’ve chosen to go with Economic Collapse, Viral outbreak, Nuclear War. This as I say is just a start and I mean to expand as time goes on, but again, that’s the reason I’m here, I wanted to get an accurate consensus of what the community feels are the real threats today.

In the simulation takes place in a bunker and the player gets to select a scenario, spend £5000 on supplies (Food, water, medication, fuel), £5000 on equipment (Air filters, battery radio, tools, cooking equipment and so on)

Just to be clear guys, I wouldn’t class myself as a media type, I’m just here to make sure that the simulation is accurate, it will not be slanted towards making preppers look crazy, far from it, there wont be a tin foil hat in sight, of this you have my word, but if I am to make a simulation about prepping and surviving I wanted to speak to the very people that do it for real, I wanted their input and experience to make sure that the situation is a representation of the real world threats we have in this world for which I believe there are many.

I understand that my introduction wasn’t winning me any friends, and yea sure I could have joined and asked questions under the radar but I wanted to be open and honest with my intentions.

Well, regardless of the responses you get, I hope you make a success of the venture, sounds like a fun hypothetical exercise. Good luck!
