Mylar Sheets

Post by gooner677 »

Hi all,

Bit of advice please.

Just dusted off my dehydrator and planning to get a few things done for some short and longer term storage.

For the short term I was going to use vacuum bags, as it will be for things I intend to eat normally (dried apple etc). However I also want to do a few things for longer term storage and would use a Mylar bag with oxy absorber. I have seen the various prices/sizes of bags and my question is, can you use rolls/sheets of Mylar that are sold on various sites and cut them to the size you want, or are the bags of a special 'food grade'.

If you can use the rolls/sheets, do they work out any cheaper? Has anyone used them?

Many thanks

Sorry Gooner, I don't use Myler bags, I had no idea it was available to buy in sheets!

Hope you can get a reply soon.
