Mystery daypack, any ideas?
Mystery daypack, any ideas?
Found this on ebay, was listed as a British army day pack, with modification of zips put on to take a bergan side pouch.
It made of the same cordura as my early olive full length bergan, just a slightly different colour as you can see from my pouch. Great size, just what i was after, about 30L.
I have looked on the net and cannot find a picture of this pack, i just wondered if anyone had come across one, there is what looks like black print on the inside, but you cannot read it, but no label?

Could well be a test/trial bag. Modded by previous owner.

Soldier 95 pattern issue rocket pack , designed to zip to 95 pattern ruck sack and then designed to be zipped together with harness attached for a 24 hour pack or single as a day pack (12 hour )
There's a medical pack ,same design , but loads of pocket pouches elastic molle loops , quite rare but very useful , if your in a army surplus store with a bin of these take time to look through as there may be a few in there
Came in olive green and DPM cammo

The rocket pouch looks issued.
But to be fair the main bit of it looks tailor made, something from Dixie or Jay Jay.
Or it's a medical side pouch (as mentioned) but an older one that has been modified. I doesn't look like the newer med pouch type though.

Cutting, combustion, cordage, container, cover.

Looking at the size of the zip cover I'd say not. Most Medic pouches open flat for ease of use.munchh wrote:Medic pac?

Nice day pack though.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Looking closer at the pics, I definitely reckon it's a custom job.

Hong Kong special? I've seen a few custom jobs knocked up in a Kowloon or Hong Kong tailor's shop back room...!
Re: Mystery daypack, any ideas?
Its at least 20 years old from what the bloke was telling me. It does the job, i wanted something better than the side pouches and yoke.
