A few extreme groups will play up before the event, a few extreme groups will play up after the event. Then things will settle down to their normal levels and there will be just as much of a risk to life and limb as thee is on most Thursday mornings at 10:15 AM when the kettle is on.

Until that is another political thing comes up and people go silly about that too and let the issues of the day distract them from looking after themselves.

After today's tragic murder of Jo Cox I shall just drink another glass of homemade raspberry vodka as I now feel it wont matter anymore what the result is, we will be stuck in whatever happens

surely we can grow or raise most of our own food in Uk, even if they did stop deliveries from other countries? .. I mean there's british raised cows, pigs, sheep, chickens (for eggs too) fish from off British shores, sure there must be some salmon farms somewhere in the Uk too (thought I'd seen on on TV once) potatoes and most root veg and salad.

Only thing I can think of at minute would be tropical fruits banana's, pineapples etc that will only grow in tropical countries ..oh.. tea and coffee of course..I guess uk would run out eventually ..(though isn't Yorkshire Tea meant to be made in the UK?) Would tropical countries and ones such as India stop importing to UK if UK left EU?

what about france/germany/Netherlands? ..thinking of zooplus for the dogs food and treats! would they be included?

i can`t see any country not wanting to trade with the uk , ok we may not get the best deal but they still need to sell and a customer is still a customer .

if i read it right , the EU put an extra tax on stuff from out side the block to discourage buying in from out side .
YES i walked away mid sentence , you were boring me to death and my survival instincts kick in .

So we'd still be able to get stuff but the prices would go up?

It depends which side you listen to. Remember both sides aren't actually political parties so can say whatever they feel will sway us, they don't really have to stick to it because neither side is speaking for a political party as such, just a viewpoint. There is still the possibility that we leave the EU and end up tied to it like Norway or Switzerland that have the open borders policy that so many are voting 'out' to get away from. There are so many ifs, buts and maybes involved. I'm not trying to sway opinions, I've got my own of course but I've been disappointed with both sides of the campaign, as I was with the Scottish indy one. Both sides slavering a lot of rubbish trying to appeal to a pretty low and selfish denominator and some rampant opportunism by politicians to raise their profile.

If we do leave it won't be quick, there will be a drawn out negotiated leaving process that will take a few years in which we would still be part of Europe. Plenty of time to stock up if you're worried about something specific.

I saw this online just now with lots of immigrants trying to get into lorries leaving France to get back to UK and Cars being stoned, seems they are desperate to get in, incase UK closes its borders.

http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/681 ... -Euro-2016

Surely if businesses are worried about bringing stuff over incase this happens with their drivers they will stop deliveries coming in from France?

Um, each to their own but The Express isn't where I'd be getting my 'news' from. I'm pretty confident that trade will still happen in the short term between us the continent.

A few politicians will either stand down or get the boot, a few EU ministers will get themselves all worked up and make grandiose statements about the end of the EU/World economy, Obama will make a long drawn out, scripted statement about the 'special relationship' / supporting our decision (then doing whatever benefits the US anyway) and Farage will go to a pub for a pint.

I'll be taking a day off and going out for a walk to get away from it all.

I don't see it as being any different to any other day, Despite all the political squabbling and backstabbing, the sun will still rise and set, there'll probably be some rain, life will go on, whether on Thursday, Friday or over the weekend, it may take some adjustment, there may be some unsettle and the markets will yo-yo for a week or two, but in the end, the world will still turn, and we humans will still be arguing over whats on it.

Great quote to put things in perspective:

'See those rocks over there? they've been standing up there for 200 million years, still be there long after you and I are gone, so arguing over who owns 'em is like two fleas arguing over who owns the dog they live on'
