This may seem extravagant to some, but i just get fed up quick when im not comfortable, but i know i'm not the only one that thinks you should be "smoothing it" not "roughing it".

I've been searching a while, it has had to come down to watching you tube mostly, as you dont tend to find this at your average camping shop, but i recon the above video answers all you need.

When i go up the woods or fishing or just for the day down the beach, chairs are always part of my gear, but they are mostly bulky if you want it to be worth sitting in, i've also had many that after a while you find there is a pole across your back, or something sticking in you.

Anyway, this one fits in your side pouch or easily in your bag, sofar its very comfy (i ate my fathers day breakfast in it), so i cannot give a great user review, its more, this is what ive come up with after alot of looking.

I will let you know how it is after some use, but i cant see why i would have a problem with it, i am about 210lbs and its rated to 250, but as you see in the vid, it will take much more.

If i was bugging out i would want one in my bag, my only gripe would be the price, they are £80 pretty much everywhere, but i shouldn't need to ever buy another one!

What do you recon?

Almost 2lb in weight, I'd look for other options. Quite often I'll sit on the flap of my haversack on the ground while out mooching, have you looked at the bush-craft chair? I've seen one made with an old mail sack ;)
If at first you don't succeed, excessive force is usually the answer.

I have looked at other things, hammock chairs and the like and i have sit mats, i just wanted something that could stand up on its own and be off the floor, it is so much more comfortable than the chairs i have in my caravan and far lighter. If you go any lighter its not going to put up with me sitting on it

Fair play to you if it works for you mate but that's a hefty chunk out of my 'zombie budget' and it will be waaaaayyyyy down my list of 'must haves' but enjoy your chair, it does look pretty cool.

No, it isn't, the ultimate chair has more purposes that just sitting in it. A better ultimate chair is the hammock variety, then you can use it to store food up in trees and so on. .

I've just bought 2 folding chairs for £10 from go outdoors, but I do like the idea of a small folding one, the price is the killer for me, way too much.
The issue I have with all these chairs is the back is too low, you can't sit back and snooze.
