Hi, just a quick introduction, my names Rickey, im from the west midlands. Mid 20's. Don't really like giving to much information away as im a firm believer in a lone wolf sort of style of camping out. I am not preparing for a apocalypse, However i like the idea of going somewhere and making it your home and living of skills we have lost as a society. but i am also a rational sort of bloke who knows if something were to happen, looking at every other country in the world which have experienced a breakdown in society or governance, the two main types of people to fill that void, are criminals and terrorists. Also the human survival instinct will make that person with nothing want your something. So don't mind me as i get as far away as possible.

So i like to pack equipment which has a shelf life longer than 72hours, with slight changes to a bugout bag you can last alot longer. It doesn't Evan have to be expensive, a example, food,Do i buy 1 MRE for £10 when i can buy for £12 - 1.5kg of porridge, bag of mixed fruit and nuts, milk powder and buy 48 of those cheap 20p just add water pasta's, 400 calories a piece. keeps for years. lots of different flavours. 3 meals a day for a month. Obviously im not expecting people to carry that much. but its good to know you don't have to break the bank and not get sucked into expensive gimmicks.

It's true in any walk of life, isn't it - DIY is cheaper than ready made! Glad you've got that sussed even on prepping terms. Good for you!
