I need some more advice guys.
What food should I store? I need food that don't smell while being prepared. I prepp for short term food delivery problems, so for now week's food is enough for me. Why food like that? I want to avoid neighbours knocking my doors asking for dinner while something bad happens, I want to stay stealth.
I thought of cans with vegies, fruits and meat, but I also want something that can last for 5 years without checking on it.
Maybe "Seven Oceans Emergency Food Ration Liferaft Survival Biscuits"?

Maybe a cop out if you're looking for a definitive answer but its going to come down to what works for you. The 'store what you eat, eat what you store' is a mantra I try and live by. There are some exceptions like UHT milk that I wouldn't normally use but keep about half a dozen litres. I've started storing (and therefore eating) more canned stuff, nothing too exotic, but where as in the past the only tins we regularly used were tuna, beans and chopped tomatoes, now I have stuff like meatball, ravioli and chilli. Plenty rice, pasta and noodles too, I try and store food for as close to 'normal' as I can, I have a load of dehydrated veg to add as well but its whatever works for you. Short of eating them cold I would imagine most food will smell when you cook it and if you're in a flat then the smell might travel. I don't know your situation but you might need to either set up next to a window or do most your eating late at night/early in the morning if it comes down to it.

Hi guys. I need your advice. I've checked the kickboards in the kitchen and I think I can fit there at least 60 l of water in bottles and there's still space in front of flat lying bottles. What shall I put there. I want to place the boards back and leave it for approx 5 years untouched so in ccase of food it must be long shelf life. What shsll I put thete with the water? I thought about these raft emergency rations. What else? Knives? First aid kit? Meds? Anything?

Thanks for your replies in advance.
Also after the earthquakes in Italy I started thinking about bug out bag. Is it expendive to mske one?

It's just my opinion, but I'd say it's not the best plan to store food for five years, plan to regularly check and rotate your food stock. We have had a couple of weeks of eating through our older stores of tinned food (mostly fruit and veg) which will be replaced this week. As for water, have a look online for water filters as well as storage. There are several to choose from but I'd say the mini-sawyer is worth considering as it can filter out most of the nasties and will make local outdoor water sources drinkable. If you have garden water butts then with a sawyer, you've got a couple of hundred litres as a backup.

Having a good first aid supply is a good idea but won't you want that more accessible than under the kitchen kickboards? We have several kits of differing sizes dotted around the house, in cars, in bags.

There is a wealth of content on here about bug-out bags and after a browse through UKP I reckon you'll have gathered enough info to put together the right kit for you because that's what it's all about, the right kit for you, your location and your situation. There's no point filling it up with stuff someone else recommends that's of no use to you and will just be dead weight you've got to transport and/or carry.

Wot Briggs says. Have a look on Youtube too but don't take it all as gospel. BOB's should be unique in that they're tailored for YOUR requirements.

5 years storage 'life' is great but you'll want to cycle in newer stuff rather than sit on it until its going out of date. If your world is turned upside down after 4 and a half years.....

The idea of keeping it under kickboards was to keep it away from peoples eyes, like house robbery. If lets say a group of looters comes to my house they may loot everything, but will they think of kickboards? Of course except whats under kickboards there will be other supplies. I want them under kickboards as emergency in case if all the other stuff is eaten or looted.

I get that mate, if I thought that my stores were likely to be raided I'd be doing the same thing. From a practical point of view though its not the first place I'd keep stuff that I was trying to cycle. If you've got no other space then it might be worth the hassle or if you want to just stow it there for the 5 years and forget about it then fair enough but I try and use my oldest stuff first generally. Whatever works for you though.

Rotating stuff will be kept outside. The stuff hidden as written before is emergency. I thought about Polish luncheonmeat (tastes pretty good) in cans but their use by date is approx 2 years. I found some canned lets call it meat in b&m and its use by was approx 5 years but they taste really bad (on the other hand I'd eat it if I were hungry). The stuff there has to last 5 year. I just don't fancy unscrewing these kickboards all the time. Food to be rotated will be of better taste and something I can accept as food.

Cables running in free air space ie clipped to joists should be run OVER the boarding and not sandwiched between it and the insulation UNLESS you uprate the cable to take into account the thermal resistance of the substrate its running in....

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine
