Hi all,
I'm 31 from South Wales, my name is Shaun but I typically use my nick #AspieRunner.
I have varied interests, studying a degree in IT, so naturally this is a major interest although it is a broad one as I have not yet chosen my specialism.
I love the outdoors, I am an ultrarunner; like to run beyond a marathon, preferably in the mountains. This extends to camping, hiking and surivalism.
I love to study, read and just think about all sorts of stuff.
I'm Autistic (Aspergers) hence Aspie Runner.
I have various reasons for coming here, some purely for entertainment reasons and some because I believe there is a possibility of some kind of SHTF event in my life time and I'd rather have put some thought and maybe some physical preparation in but also because I find the idea entertaining as I mentioned; romantically, surviving an apocalypse has a lot of entertainment value, while also being serious and the polar opposite of romantic so I like to have dreamy journeys in my head of fanciful scenarios just to pass the time but I also like to take it serious in the actual prep regards. So that is why I came here... to fuel the imagination and to get actually useful ideas.

Hello Shaun, welcome in - I think a lot of us come into preparedness by way of fiction, romanticised or not - I certainly did, via science fiction, gradually reading stuff that was more and more modern.
The IT interest is important - you'll find that most of us like to have important documents copied onto a flash drive for safety, in case of a house fire or suchlike (bugging out in front of zombies, too )
