Sorry but down in the dumps at the mo
Sorry to hear its so tough right now, junmist - but you're *living* your preps - supporting your niece while your sister starts up an income stream is a family prep that connects you all. And as for internet prepping - sorting out which project you're going to do next is always a good thing, and there's probably stuff you can practise from youtube. Knitting? Knots? I know I can still tie a reef knot (from brownies!) but nothing else. A slipknot? Something you can pick up and set down.

In any case, not long now!

For my own preps, I've been retired for a month now :D :D :D emptied my house of most of the bulky equipment I had here for my work, and caught up on the immediate family visits I needed to make, so I'm just at the start of making my house and garden more relevant to my needs, especially my prepping needs. My little kale plants I potted up last Wednesday were the very beginning of that.

Now - getting the kitchen useable. I realise I've just been coping by chucking everything in there and letting it sit there, but there's no space at all to do anything. It's big enough, but very badly laid out. I don't have the money to change the layout, but I can declutter it and make it more workable. That's the agenda today.

Totally agree with Arzosah! You are prepping junmist! :P

This week I have purchased combat tourniquet, celox, and 2 israeli-type dressings. I also purchased a usb ni-mh recharger as I realised my newly purchased li-ion recharger wasn't compatible with my batteries; I'm kind of fumbling about in the dark with this electronic stuff.

Take your time and do a bit of research mate, look into the different types of batteries, Youtube can be helpful but its not the only place. You have us too so ask away, I'm no expert but we've got some clever types on here who've done all sorts of projects.

I feel the same way at the moment junmist, just gone back to full time work and after two years out of it I feel out of my depth :( I'm thankful that I have a lot of food preps in place as they have been my cushion for the last couple of weeks, the allotment has also saved the day a few times! I'm sure I will get my bounce back as will you junmist, patience and planning will be both our saving grace.

Well i went into lidl tonight they have some car stuff in so Mrs andys car now has its own spare bulb kit after last fridays panic that the car was telling he she had a brake light out... which turns out to be No, the car wants to illuminate both the brake light and Indicator when you brake.... (not bad to say its only decided to start doing it on Friday (i followed her home on Thursday eve)

10 mins with a screw driver and spanner set got the cluster to bits realised it was a ground fault the little plug on the loom to cluster was a bit green so cleaned up with fine screwdriver then contact cleaner followed up by spray grease put back together and all was good....

Picked up a bargain of a Snap on diagnostic code reader from a mechanic friend who has got himself a fancier more up to date machine just had it plugged in and updated the software on it..

and finally fitted an intruder alarm to the shed thats been on my to do list all summer ...

Got to check mrs andys car antifreeze level too before it gets too cold (need to find my hydrometer)

Stocked up on salt, tea, coffee, porridge, lentils, bread flour, tins of veg and meat. Got winter woolies out of wardrobe and into drawers, took summer tshirts out of drawers and put into wardrobe. Then, of course, we had an 18c day.........

Had to buy two new tyres. Car tried to kill me by having a blow-out..... Wheres the 'crapping myself' emoticon ?

Could of been worse (was going slowish) could of been better (bleeding miles from home).
Had a brew up while waiting for a lift

One reason why I paid £150 for a spare wheel jack, brace and hanger over a stupid can of goo and a weedy pump which never seem to work
