Hi, relatively new to here and prepping so still on the lists and starting with the basics...
Looking at food, fuel, water for a month to start with then build up to 3 months supply..
Hardest thing is prioritising in order and most likely scenarios?
Personally we are okay with no floods etc but expect man made problems first, economic and conflicts resulting in lack of stuff like fuel etc and supplies like fuel and coal etc stopping resulting in shops emptiness etc..
Then terrorism, water shortages etc..
So starting with water, food and Jerry cans of diesel, keeping car and campervan topped up. Planning on staying put, too overpopulated everywhere you wouldn't get anywhere in a vehicle when everyone's on the move? be quicker on foot or bike, have bikes and panniers etc.
Plus organise outdoor kit as we do travelling, mountaineering, winter etc we are kitted for all seasons and been self sufficient so organising that better.
Also looking at solar chargers, wind up radios, torch etc all useful in our camper while exploring remote northwest Scotland so not stuck in a cupboard.
Otherwise slowly reading through everyone's great ideas and learning more..
All the best

Continuing updating my car kit for winter....
3 season sleeping bag added for now( if it turns really nasty I will chuck my 5 season bag in )
Bivvie bag added
Put my 24 hr ration pack into a ammo tin along with a camping gaz stove and metal mug... To protect the gas cartridge more than anything..
Repacked a full change of clothes incl thermals and a quilted shirt. In a VAC bag with hat and gloves...

New biggish ticket item: a proper fridge that runs on 240v/12v/LPG. I have a small solar panel/battery array, but we're largely expecting to run this off LPG if it is required. This is actually a purchase for a friend who is a Type I diabetic. Whilst insulin will last about 30 days without refrigeration, all the vials she tends to stock at any one time will be rancid in a month if they're not refrigerated, hence making stockpiling them redundant. One never knows when any replacements might arrive if there is a widespread power problem. She is a friend who is very supportive of my prepping (even some of the more loony bits ), despite knowing that should anything major happen, as a Type I diabetic she is likely to die pretty quickly, so TEOTWAWKI prepping is a moot point for her. This might give her a few months more when the Zombies arrive and I figure as a trained nurse she's quite a useful person to keep alive. Bonus: it will have space to keep the beers cool too! Now need to stockpile some more LPG....!

A bit of water prepping today;
350l water butt was low so got it fully drained (mostly used to wash decking down) bleached inside - amazing how you still get algae growth with so little light getting through, filter cleaned and bleached, and the whole thing raised up on some offcut wood blocks by two inches.
Battery stocks checked and charged, and a general tidy up in the shed / prep room!

Just be aware that on LPG you WILL loose the thermostat control so some very fine twiddling will be needed of the gas valve to prevent freezing...
Also a good breeze can blow out the burner...
From my domestic unit uses by the book about 250g of gas a day so a 15kg bottle should last about 60 days!
A electronic thermometer might be a good investment ideally with a alarm for Max / min temperature keep an eye in lidl over the next couple of months if they get winter car care stuff in they get the thermometers in regularly

Trying a new way of storing rose hips instead of making syrup which I seem to be having trouble with I am now drying them once dried they can be crushed and you can make a tea with them which still gives a vitamin C boost

Got a pack of ten glow sticks in Sainsbury's for £2, only small and multicolors but I tried one out last night and it lasted till the morning! I'm going to get more and put them away in my drawer with my candles stash!
Is that a good deal?

I bought a military style folding shovel, can you dig it !
Wulfshead,
who really did buy the shovel, lot easier than cleaning the concrete off my old one that some dork of a labourer used and didn't tell me.

Replacing the stored water I used during an outage: there was a burst main nearby that took out a lot of people's supply. It's the first time it's happened to me since I started any kind of prepping, so I was able to be completely calm in the knowledge I could last out most things. I also called and checked on a couple of vulnerable people nearby, and was pleased to discover they still had water, and had some bottled in storage after the last time this happened to them.
