Rockworth Generator

Post by martynbez »

Picked up one cheap on a local pickup from ebay yesterday. Mark as brand new just a little dusty. No signs of fuel ever been in it. It's only a little 1.1kva but didn't come with a manual or model number.

Anyone had any experience with them?

at 1.1 . i would`nt try to run a kettle off it . be ok for a small microwave or maybe a few lamps . i cant see it doing much past that . all depends on what you want it to do .

It's petrol one.

Looks like it's been brought and never used.

Not looking to do too much with it. Few LED lamps and maybe phone chargers etc

Rockworth Generator

Try and find more info out about it first before plugging electronics like phone chargers into it

Some cheap generators don't put out very clean electric and can fry sensitive electronics

You may be able to clean its output by running a UPS off it and plugging stuff into that instead as they clean and regulate voltage and are designed for use mainly with computers

Thats a good idea.

I have access to some older UPS so that could be an option.

I've got this generator. I've run a travel kettle on it and various power tools while over the allotment. It does ok. I haven't run charging for laptops etc on it. As other members have said, its best to run regulated supplies to these.

I need to get a new pull start for mine. Did you get a manual with it? I might have one somewhere if you need it.

That's one thing I never got with it. If I could get a scanned copy from you that would be awesome ;)

I realise this is an old thread, but it's worth mentioning that if you want to run tech from a generator you should really look out for pure sine wave types. They don't have to be expensive.
