agriculture blade, thing !?!

Todays walk in the country............


Found a pile of these, on abandoned farm land that's due to be developed.

Ive sent a e-mail to me mate Scott (wessex blades) see what he makes or could make of it,

at a guess its some part of a agriculture machine, im getting parang, chopper bladed "type o thing"

as Ive mention, theres a pile of them, Im no exchange an mart......however if you have a hankering for 1 pm me, take things from there ski,

some dims 290mm length, 90mm at the widest, 40.5 at the narrowest.

Possibly from a harrow , looks about right and considering there's a pile that would fit too. To be honest I don't know the type or grade of steel so can't really say what new use it could be put to.

Hey Grenfell, the magic word is that is was "free" as its got a blade on one part and its agriculture I'm of the thought its pretty good, I'm still waiting to hear back from Scott (Wessex Blades) see what he makes of it,

Looks like it's off a power harrow or rotovator, they're usually designed to be disposable parts so won't be too high grade steel

Any blades or tines from ploughs/harrows etc do get very hot in use, so not sure what effect that'd have on the hardness, but sure they can be made into something.

I've seen some pretty cool sculptures welded up out of old farm rubbish...

Nice bit of recycling, Im still waiting to hear back from Scott of Wessex Blades before I decide what to do with it, have a look on you tube, Scott and Funky Prepper are real people, scotts videos are pretty manic (Funny) theres one of him un boxing an MOD machete, and hes not impressed by what they are now being issued with,

Hello Alloneword, I've not seen this before, and although I get the message and concept of what been created I personally struggle with what's been put across.

In my world I've always been around Tools (Knifes) and when they use the word "weapons" to describe a tool then it rattles me, in the same way that they destroyed millions of Antique guns, knifes etc back in the 80's on the grounds that someone might kill someone (if it gets into the wrong hands)

I get that the sculpture was created from items surrendered or confiscated by the police and yes its a thought provoking piece of art, but they neglect (as always) to mention the billions of people out there who are law biding and carry tools for a legitimate reasons.

thanks for making me aware of it, I may just go and have a look at it once its on display,
