Upcoming gravity light - still in initial stages

TLDR: Lift up a weight -> generates 20 minutes of light (small lamp).

I get the impression the benefit of this particular invention is that it doesn't need batteries, which they say are the costly and low life-expectancy bit of any light system.

And lifting a 10kilo weight a metre or two is a faster and probably more efficient means of storing energy than winding away furiously at a clockwork/flywheel crank.
