I ordered the Lil Larry but as they were out of stock I was sent the big Larry instead, heres a quick review.
The light feels very solid, it's not going to break easily I suspect, I've managed to drop it about 5 foot onto the pavement and it's still fine.
It's output is rated at full 400 Lm 4.5 hours, low 160 Lm 15 hours, and red flashing 160 Lm 40 hours (it's 3 modes) it has a magnetic base so you could stick it to say the wing of the car to change a wheel, as long as the wing is metal.
It has a very wide spread, it'll light up the whole room, loads of light to work with, now it's not going to throw very far, I'd say maybe 15-20 yards but for working on something it's loads of light.
It's about 7.5 inches long and about 8 oz with batteries (3 AA)

You're right, you want a floodlight not a spotlight for working.
Thanks for the review

Never heard of them so thanks for the pointer. A cursory skeg online shows they're available for 13 quid +.

Somebody told me homebase has them for a £10.Deeps wrote:Never heard of them so thanks for the pointer. A cursory skeg online shows they're available for 13 quid +.

Cheers bro, they're a lot smaller than the more generic ones I've got although they are cheaper. Its just a pity I've got an unreasonable wife who questions my 'zombie' expenditure.sniper 55 wrote:Somebody told me homebase has them for a £10.Deeps wrote:Never heard of them so thanks for the pointer. Nice find. I am tempted by the idea of putting one in the boot so, as you point out, I could fix it to the wing for changing a wheel.

Theres a plastic "copy" about (it hasn't got the red option) and it's less power but they run about £3, again I'm told homebase has them (haven't looked) and some industrial clothing/tool places, they could be handy chucked in the tool box.
