Dry mix of sand and cement for the slabs on top of a membrane.

Will post pics of the genny shed when its done...i've been taking snaps as I go along, but at the rate i'm completing it it will be a month or two till its finished. Just treated the wood (and the underneath of the floor which was fun :( )and put a damp proof membrane on the inside so far. I have plenty of carpet underlay in the loft so am planning on using a few layers of that on the inside at the mo and see what difference it makes and then build up from there.

just completed food storage area and started transferring boxfuls of food etc onto shelves. Looks a lot when its in boxes now realise how much i still have to get. Finished planting seeds and sorting garden, bought incinerator from Aldi so can burn rubbish if needs be. (Went to GMB meeting the other day and there so many redundancies coming in the refuse dept of our council dont know whos going to do all the collections). Got some more chem light sticks for BOBs.

I'm not sure that burning household rubbish is going to be legal, Maybe a look at how far to the local tip would be better advised for some of the rubbish at least, only burning stuff like paper and cardboard.

Sod that - if they can't get themselves out to collect it, then why should she have to use her time & petrol to cart it about ? I would burn it at night Lisa, so the neighbours don't notice. The farms around me do it all the time, to save them having to lug stuff to wheelie bins that can be 2 miles away at the road end.
Pietka - hope you get another tile stove built !

i do recycle a lot of stuff anyway and cardboard, paper and peelings, egg shells etc go in the compost bin. Im just thinking if there was anything else we couldnt dispose of we could use an incinerator rather create a health hazard that may attract rats. We're not even supposed to have barbecues where I live but everybody does.

Wonder if they will stop or cut cut the recycling collections ? Surely not after all the money they already spent to get set up for it ?

i cant believe how many people are facing job losses within our city council, something is surely going to have to give. Good news is it affects traffic wardens too

our council has been doing garden waste collection -we have a special wheelie bin for this. However, from this month they are now charging for the priviledge of having your garden waste collected. You have to sign up and pay a yearly fee. Of course, people all argued that this was included in the council tax but the council argued it wasn't; it was a gesture of goodwill service!
But they also won't collect the now redundent green wheelie bin
