Yep.
But my style is think about something (a lot), plan it out (a lot) and then hit it hard. I am also in the fortunate position of being able to afford it, so I did not have to pace it.
For instance, and to answer your question, in terms of Food, a quick trip to the cash and carry and I was grabbing tinned food in 24 tin packs (tinned curry, tinned soup, tinned meat, tinned vegetables, tinned fruit etc, Plus rice comes in 5kg bags, pasta in similar sized amounts etc. Fairly easy. Working on a calorie/meal requirement as per our requirements, I am sitting on about 120-150days. As for water, I am not going down the 'bulk store always on hand' (extra tank in the loft) route - if things look dicey, I have a large stash of Jerry Cans which I would fill as last minute preps. We generally have around around 100-150 lites of water on hand (2l bottles of fizzy water).
When I decided to put a PLan B/C kit together, I took the lazy man approach and started with this kit...
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01 ... UTF8&psc=1
then I added to it. Got the tent, sleeping bags, water processors, water bottles, survival gear (snares, fire lighting, etc), weapons, knifes, axes, etc etc etc - mostly from Amazon. I think on one day the neighbours must have thought I was running a whore house by the 30 or 40 people who called to deliver packages.
I made mistakes, dont get me wrong. I ordered things I am not going to need (I bought 2 fold flat hobo stoves, I really only need 1, and a crowbar which was too heavy) and I replaced the bag in the above 2 person kit (as the bag was rubbish). but generally I am happy with my setup.
I am not finished - I have more to add (see the above list), and my birthday is coming up - wife asked me what I wanted and I said a de-humidifier (going to make masses and masses of Jerky for our summer time leisure walking, but 50% is going into the bug in/out bags).
I am giving thought about buying a calor gas heater (£60 on ebay) and 4 large gas tanks for next winter. But, I wont want this whole thing to be never ending, I want to sleep well at night knowing its there, and it can all sit there waiting, in need should SHTF.

You live in a time of decay, when the worth of a man is how much he can pay (Flamboyant, Pet Shop Boys, 2006)
