Aaah, now we are talking ! Kent axes, yes, have several, adapted left and right and regular. I used to do a fair bit of hedgelaying, wattle hurdles and all that jive. Ive been looking at some other forums trying to find the right handle pattern. I used to make my own but I dont have the access to raw materials or mobility I once had.
Soooo...where would one go about finding a correct handle for a kentish pattern hand axe, about 14" I would say, maybe 16, tops ? And by what name does one ask for ? I knew a shop in bristol that sold real tools, my elwell billhooks came from there, but I dont get up there anymore and they dont like to deal by post.
And the edge...convex or as some are suggesting elsewhere, a concave bevel ?
