Well this little £2.99 trinket stops the battery from been discharged by shutting off USB charging and the 12v socket will shut off the power if the voltage of the battery drops to the point it will begin to get damaged.. (Circa 20%)

Hmmm, could be a cheap source of a voltage sensing circuit to switch a relay for split charging, good find !!
