Thanks Lisa, i will have a look at them. On a related note we have had an unused motorised treadmill in one of the spare rooms that we picked up for MrsCC to recuperate from a bad illness a few years ago. I decided to start making use of it to help with the fitness and moved it downstairs yesterday (weighs a flipping ton). Looked online and worked out an exersize routine for the treadmill and had my first run on it today.....I only did a 15 minute run and it damn near killed me . I often take the mutt for a 5 or 6 mile walk and thought i was fairly fit....obviously not

I will keep it up...I just need to remind myself that it is a prep and not just torture

Wonder if they will stop or cut cut the recycling collections ? Surely not after all the money they already spent to get set up for it ?

our council has been doing garden waste collection -we have a special wheelie bin for this. However, from this month they are now charging for the priviledge of having your garden waste collected. You have to sign up and pay a yearly fee. Of course, people all argued that this was included in the council tax but the council argued it wasn't; it was a gesture of goodwill service!
But they also won't collect the now redundent green wheelie bin

put a tap in the bottom and use it as another water butt.

We've had a garden waste bin for a while, but we have always had to pay for the privilege

Good idew WW, but we're going to cut the bottom out and use it as another compost bin.

There are some good advantages to having a wheelie water butt, like being able to move it to where you might need to use the water, or to where you can collect water from one place and move it to another.

Our compost bin is four pallets screwed together, lined with polythene, cheap and cheerful

Aim behind this year with planting although the beds are ready. Will be sorting out greenhouse later.

I like the look of the buckets full of seeds you can buy in the U.S. but they dont ship them over here for some reason.

mini cucs, sweecorn, beans, radish, celery, carrot, beetroot, swede. I bought plenty of other seeds from the local supermarket, plus I have plenty of unopened seeds from last year too.
