Been cutting firewood and stacking it ready for next Winter. We are lucky that we have contacts who bring us a steady stream of wood -and that we have loads of room to stack it. Better than money in the bank IMO.

Whilst my wife watches her soaps, I am going to start an inventory of our food stores in 'The Bunker' as we call it ( it is a dry -lined outbuilding!). I have audited the walk in pantry indoors, so it will give us an overall picture of what we are holding.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

Robert Frost.

Covid 19: After that level of weirdness ,any situation is certainly possible.

Me.

Well fence is up went up very smoothly only problem is the fence is straight but nothing else is grrrr

Garden now much more secure from "garden hoppers" due to next doors not been secure just need about 5ft more anti climb none lacerating spikes

And a few more screws putting in to brace the staples the planks are held on with
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine

And a couple of those sentry robots from Aliens? ;)
I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.

You have my sympathy mate. Touch wood its not something I've experienced but I back on to a playing field and have issues out there.

Added to my Amazon wish list ;-)

Those plastic spikes are a good deterrent bloody sharp they are especially if your upto no good after dark and are not expecting it. ... Often billed as anti cat spikes which is bs as ours happily jumps up and walks along the stuff!

Oh, you ! If I had posted that you would have come down like a ton of rectangular buildy things ! :o :D

I, however, have finally managed to buy my first Mora knife. Theres five (FIVE!) places in my tiny town that sell outdoor type knives and none had any. So I had to pay an extra 3 quid to get one delivered. I dont have a lot of cash so I resent this. And it hasnt come yet.

Also, ordered a far eastern Trangia copy, complete with potstand and simmer ring to replace my obselete camping gaz GT stove. If it turns out to be the size its listed, it will nest in the GT billys and fit in my go-bag nicely.

Going into town to Mountain Warehouse/Millets where they have a twofer on sigg (ish) bottles and stainless thermos cups, since mine seem to have left to make a new life for themselves.

Need to find time to test drive my two pressure stoves, freshly refurb'ed, to go into the car kit boxes. But family commitments and lambing are cutting into prep time.

In my pursuit for more cheap but quality goods, I picked up this Supergrade 100% Wool Danish Civil Defense coat that was never issued and has most likely been lay in some store cupboard for years.

Only cost me £19.99 and at that price was an absolute bargain and steal.

Just back from the rifle club, Mrs Shocks showed me (and everyone else) up by shooting through a 2mm string with a .22 at 25 metres. I was pulling one inch groups with a martini enfield .22, but she got that first shot before the sights were zeroed.

Now she tells me she was banned from all the fairground shooting galleries in the midlands. But come on....white string, white background? Sheesh.

Took delivery of my Vango Sherpa bergen, its cracking. My Mora Pro Carbon came too. :D
