Got to be a tdi Disco then. £500 will get you one with mechanical injection, the only ECMs are in the immobiliser/alarm that arent really essential. Lots of rust, strangely rarely in the bonnet. Cheap parts, cheap to weld up, run on any kind of runny oil.

Not meant in any way to promote my beliefs, but i just thought it was rather good....
As far as what i am prepping for, i guess it depends on where i think the current social situation is heading for.
The reason for considering an old series iia diesel, is that it is pretty emp-proof. But open to reasonable suggestions, considering that i am a couple of grand into a small budget already..
