So looking to run lights and a very small heater (if it's winter). Plus charging some low voltage electronic devices.

Think your getting inverters and generators mixed up ;)

On a generator you want one with a AVR (Automatic voltage regulator) the frequency wave is created by the engine speed by the means of the speed governor providing it's working along with a happy engine (good fuel and in tune) if your charging electronic devices and you don't suddenly remove or add big loads you should be ok I usually run a 60w bulb (old tungsten filament type to absorb any spikes)

Modified sine wave is usually the preserve of the cheaper 12v to mains inverters

It can't be a year!! I distinctly remember reading about your purchase but a wee while ago! Lord how time flies!!

Just a thought re the heater...I'd have thought that using a petrol generator to produce electricity to run an electric fire is a not very efficient use of fuel. Heating is better done directly by burning gas - say one of those little butane heaters that use the same canisters as the bistro stoves. Of course, you probably already have the heater and buying the gas heater and stove is extra money (and storage space) so I guess it's horses for courses! :)

Naughty prepper !

Go and write 100 lines of:

I am a lazy bad prepper!

Now it's running time to look after it......

Modern fuel contains ethanol... Ethanol is hydroscopic (it adsorbs water) = fuel goes off / causes rust inside carburettors / valve stems / fuel tanks get some stabilization solution eg

If it's being stood a while with fuel in run it with red-x in as well to help clear deposits from the fuel system (I've had fuel crystals block a carb up in the past.......

Change the oil!

Also stock spare spark plug ( they run very hot oil life is something like 50 hours)

If Amazon is correct

3.8kVA Maximum Output

Oil Type 15w40

Spark Plug Type F7TC

And don't try to run it in a small enclosure to muffle sound they over heat very quickly I run mine inside my 8ft square shed and use a drum fan to force air in (obviously be very aware or carbon monoxide! It kills very quickly

I was advised not to run a generator at max load if you can avoid it especially for long periods. I was advised to double the rated continuous kw rating

Eg planning to run a 2500w load to opt for a 5kw continuous generator as it saves hammering the alternator and is more fuel efficient as it's not running flat out guzzling fuel also leaves reserve power and the ability to kick off induction motors

My 2000w pressure washer will not start off a 2500w generator as the start up current is up towards 4kw

Wow thats an awesome site!

Couldn't find much info on it until now. I understand it's a Chinese knock off of a Honda model.
