EDC knife

Hi all, I'm currently looking for a decent EDC knife, currently considering the gerber paraframe.
Has any body got one of these? I would settle for a multi tool but can't be added with unfolding everything just for a knife, and I don't need anything other than a knife, I have been looking at others but the shop is fairly local for me too. Oh also I'm on a budget of about £30 don't wanna spend more and be gutted if I loose or break the knife

I'd avoid Gerber personally, they aren't great knives.

You need to decide do you want pocket jewellery or a workhorse ? (I have lots of both )

Also consider Victorinox (you could get a couple for your budget)

If you can push your budget out a bit, then a Spyderco UKPK or Urban (My regular EDC is an Urban, I find the size more useable than an UKPK)

Get a Swiss Army knife - they tend not to freak people out,and Plod are generally cool with them as long as you are not committing a crime with it!

Sadly I lost my pukka swiss army job swimming (long story) but I must admit while that are good quality I do prefere the spyderco style knives. I just find them quicker and easier to open. I like to have a knife I can open one handed easily.

I had a bad experience with Swiss a long time ago, I must admit I do like the spider I knives though, I will have to have a chat at my lock all gun shop to see if they have a supplier

Whatever yoiu choose to have in your pocket- and it is your choice- I would seriously consider UK law.Non locking and less than a 3" blade.Even a thumb stud for one handed opening is a no no.Trust me,I have been the wrong side of the law and they measured the Opinel ( which I had ground to sub- 3" and removed the locking collar),and still tried to pin 'carrying an offensive weapon' on me.I had a good solicitor.Had I been arrested with a lock knife,it would have been a different matter.

Thumb studs and other methods of OHO are not illegal. It is only the size (less than 3 inches) and that it should be foldable at all times without having to operate any locking mechanism

Yeah, I'm Swiss all the way baby, everybody has grown up with the 'fluffy' SAK, if you decide to do a fancy one handed open on a knife to get attention, you'll get attention, not always in a good way. Unless you're missing a hand then the majority of the time using 2 hands (or your mouth and a hand) to open a blade will suffice.

I picked up a Mora Outdoor companion 860 knife a while ago, its not something I'd walk around with in my pocket especially in urban Scotland (it would get me 10 years) but I've found it great up the mountains. 4.1" stainless steel blade that's razor sharp out of the box, pretty durable hard plastic sheath and a very comfortable non slip rubberized handle
