Su do you have your beans on a trellis thingy for them to climb? Would you post a photo of how you are growing them? I haven't got mine in yet but will need to do it over the next few weeks.
we use canes. The beans aren't in the ground yet - started them off in the greenhouse. I'll try and post a pic tomorrow showing canes and see if I've got any snaps from the last couple of years.

I don't have a greenhouse. I have to start all mine off in the guest bedroom - it's like a sauna up there!

seeds become less fertile when stored for long periods and some will-not germinate.

Itsy,
here are my french beans..... and the canes that they will grow up. Last year we had such a good crop we froze lots and have only recently finished them.
