Basic pastry mix for 3 months storage

12 cups flour
4 teaspoons salt
4 2/3 cups trex

mix until breadcrumb like in blender or well by hand store in heavy food grade plastic then airtight container make up with water to use

Just wondering if you could freeze this in batches ??

I suppose technically you could, but you would only be wasting freezer space as really 3 months would be it.

K.. I have a spare freezer full of only flour, just wondered. But 3 months isnt great. I haven't got any airtight gubbins yet. The OH would hit the roof and there are too many other things in a queue for the money :mrgreen:

just keep the flour and shortening in the freezer, then make up in batches in the winter, that way you will always have it.

I've kept frozen pastry in the freezer for years - and still used it!!! :lol:
