The good thing is that they are very durable. Some of mine are 10 years old, and the taps are still good.

moved house 2 years ago, still debating with Mrs Prepper on where to locate them - I have boughtn new fittings for them though...

looking for new lids that will keep debris out and going to have a look at using fish tank filter foam as an inline filter in the downpipes somehow..

We don't have a single water butt yet. It's on my list to get installed before winter. I've been researching rain water harvesting system which can be plumbed into a toilet and outdoor tap, but it's out of our budget at the moment.
