In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

I got a 10 pack of them from China a while back. Gave a few away, have a few dotted around (including rucksack pockets). In my pockets I've got a few more robust options, plastic things tend to get broken sooner or later. The one I keep to hand on my laptop table has a wee 'rats tail' on the end, even if its pitch black I can feel down for it. For the price they're handy, here's a link, the cheapest I can see right now.

Thanks, rainwater collection is on the list. Great to have and want to start planting my own veg next yearxplosiv1 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 18, 2018 2:43 am Well you already know the basics ...... food, water shelter
food you can sus out yourself , i've no idea what you like to eat.
water is easy in this country, bottle from the tap or rainwater collection.
you've a new shelter, workout the weak points and fix them.
after that its all padding to make it more comfortable.
good luck mate, wish you all the best.

For sure! I have learnt and learnt the hard way. Better organised and know what to get and not to get. Feels good to be backjansman wrote: ↑Sun Nov 18, 2018 8:57 am Welcome back. My brother was in your place a few years back,so I get it. Once you have some spare grub put by,an alternative way to cook, light a room up ,you will be well on the way.One advantage to your situation,is that you now know what NOT to waste money on.

Great idea to have some around. Never know when you may need one. Power cuts are on the “reason I’m preparing” listArzosah wrote: ↑Sun Nov 18, 2018 9:19 am Welcome back, I'm glad you're on your feet again.
At this time of year, as well as the basics of food, water and shelter, light, as jansman points out, is valuable. I have a few little torches scattered about the house, and I've used them at the oddest times. I had to leave the house at 4.30am recently, and without a torch, I couldn't have seen the keyhole to lock the door. I don't usually leave at that time of the night, so I hadn't realised Helps during powercuts, and many other emergencies/non-emergencies.

Welcome back
Re: I’m back
Welcome back, glad things are better for you. With the future uncertain for all of us, you couldn't have re-started at a better time. Medicines seem to be something the media has pegged as potentially difficult post brexit. Maybe check your painkiller, wound dressing supplies etc. You'll know what sort of meds you use and good luck
