Been there... done that.

I hope you can manage the pain until it's fixed.
I've dipped in my 7 litre stash of Jack Daniels.
Well, it IS an emergency.
Daft as it sounds, I initially thought it was a piece of grit in my sampler bag of arborio rice, which I just bought as a precursor to a big purchase..

* JD currently only 20 quid a litre at Tesco

Hope you managed to sleep, Jenny, and you'll be ready to make the calls. The grit thing doesn't sound silly at all - logical, really.

I don't know if anyone would call this prepping but in a way I feel it is. I have had the final delivery of service parts for our cars they don't need serviced for another 3-4 months but I had some spare cash in my PayPal account so bought a few filters and bits.

Also had a loo roll emergency we were down to less than 10 spare rolls so a Bookers run and 4x 36 packs bought that was a close one. If the zombies had chosen then to arrive we would have been in trouble lol.

As we have been using some of our preps due to mini me and me being hit by the cold I've noticed a few things missing or running out faster than expected. Namely paracetamol, instant mash and gravey. Large Asda order due tomorrow so should have enough food to see us through Christmas. But need to go to Tesco for the instant mash

Al: Buying car spares when you don't have to is a prep.... Its probably a lot more use then some of the things we buy, after all you will use them.

Jenny: I don't know if this would of helped, but have you heard of Toofypegs ?

Don't start about car parts mines decided to do intermittent headlights :/ new switch on order for £20 and 5 screws and a multiplug it's not worth trying to deal with a garage at this time of year
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine

Nooooo. Asda Instant mash rocks.
One of the cheapest at 28p for 120g or >400kCal. Add in a spoonful of Ghee, or powdered milk and maybe a spot of mustard and you are fed.
It's often a low stock item... Especially when I've just emptied the shelf.

I really rate it very highly. Real shelf life pretty much unlimited.

More of a 'pasta cat' by preference but I'll be upping my powdered mash too, we're not big tattie eaters but as you point out, its gonna take a looooooonnnngggg time for it to go off. Saying that, a lot of things do.

How did you go with the fang missus ???
