I mentioned I in the how are you topic but thought I'd post an update here where it won't get lost.
OH had knackered wellies so after googling I found out about "Stormsure" glue. Ordered some & gave it a try & she's now very pleased to have totally dry feet so I call it a success!
It's pretty viscous/sticky stuff so hard to do neatly (at least on a first attempt) but there are youtube videos showing what it can do so worth a watch if interested.

Very helpful, thanks!

Appreciate this. Starting to collect repair/renewal items that will help with the longevity of the clothes I wear and the things I use - this is going on my shopping list!

Poundland have a flexible glue called fantastic elastic, I bought a tube of it on the off chance it would be handy, it's actually really good, quite gooey to use, needs squeezing onto a bit of cardboard and stirring with a matchstick really but it bonds well and dries to a rubbery texture. Dries clear as well.
I have so far used it to fix the corner of my iPad cover where the leather was coming apart and to glue a bit of one of my Chelsea boots where the sole was starting to come away a bit and I'm pretty impressed to be honest.
If you're passing grab a tube as you can't go wrong for a quid.

Awesome! I will be getting some repair glue in the next couple months once my shoes get to the point they probably need it.
