I met a guy on holiday who was from Canada. He said if his dad walked out of his back door and kept heading north, he wouldn't meet another human until he hit the North Pole.

I stayed witrh some friends in Canada for a couple of months a few years back. British Columbia is an amazing place but very wet. They will not have ot worry about water when the SHTF.

My friend owns a large chunk of land on Nootka island in BC, I spend a lot of time there am amazing place, he is self sufficient and off the grid check out where he lives

That place looks amazing. I would love to live off the grid and it wouldn't take a lot of money to do it. I reckon 20 grand and I would be set for life.
