That is good news, as you say, not before time.
I have a rake of First Aid gear in the house, I have a couple of smaller pouches that if I'm taking a rucksack, I generally have one with me. I also carry a 'boo boo' kit in my EDC wallet, some plasters, pills and wipes, I also always carry a pair of tweezers, smally peanut lighter (sterilising) and my SAK. You need to adapt your circumstances (and as pointed out, ability) to the situation. If I'm away from home and going to be doing stuff with sharp things I'll always have a FAK with a field dressing in it. I'm quite out of date after being in and out of date for years and far from an expert although I'm confident in my abilities, as far as they go, I'd rather hand the FAK over to someone more qualified though if it was required.

Up until a few years ago you never put a tourniquet on regardless...
However after Afghanistan etc the CAT / CELOX / modern trauma dressings (Israeli / Oales) saved many lives from catastrophic bleeds... Out of all I've trained with I like the Oales the most as it's almost like a 3 in 1 dressing... It's got a pressure cup...a z fold gauze and a occlusive sheet (although you leave sucking chest wounds now)

Is that for all uk or just england?
Not worried about powering the whole house, just eating hot food, getting a brew, seeing through the dark, and staying warm.

UK as far as I know, but don't quote me!
Incidentally, tournquet and Celox training also becomes part of the Workplace Training next year too.

I remember quizzing the trainer on tourniquets in the summer 2015 having been told by a friend on front line ambulances they were coming into the first aid remit, got the old never use them .. 12 months later...if needed bang one on.......
