Helikon Tex FAK, FAK and supplies recommendations required

I'm considering one of the Helikln Tex FAKs. Does anybody here have one? Are they worth the money?
I would consider another type/brand if anyone can recommend something similar.
I want a FAK to sit in the bottom of my 30 litre rucksack. So probably around 25cm x 18cm max. I like the canvas type with a decent zip. The inside really needs to be modular with elasticated sections and netted pockets. I want it to be large enough to include medical shear and torniquet, or have the option to have those two items stored securely on the outside for easy access.
It is going to be a put it together yourself kit focused on trauma.

First question: are you first aid trained ?

To an extend yes. Some trauma first aid training in relation to a previous role in the police. I have had refreshers on general and emergency first aid. Also trained in CPR and AED stuff. But nothing major. My own research from videos and books but I dont know what that counts for.

I ask this , because the kit you carry should reflect the skills you have. Having just completed my Emergency First Aid at Work, I am now aware of what is needed in a first aid kit. It is not a lot to be frank. The skill is what counts. Tourniquet training will be provided next time, as standard. However, in the meantime I will carry my car kit which includes plasters, 2 trauma dressings ( applied pressure is still the way forward in most cases), CPR face shield, space blanket, and micro pore tape. After that, the most important item is the smartphone ( it’s use is actively encouraged) to call for help.

Trauma happens, but breathing is the cornerstone. The more you know, the less you need.

A hill walking kit would include compeed blister plasters and a survival bivvy bag over the usual plasters and foil blanket...

Chain saw use would have celox large trauma dressings and gauze

As for bags I'd look into the Stockholm or Copenhagen bags ..

I won't argue about the tourniquet training,but that information was given to me by the training team.I agree about kits being environment - specific .Proper training is key though.No point packing gear you don't know how to use.All the gear in the world won't help if you can't perform CPR or deal with a seizure.

A pocket mask makes the kissing a stranger a bit more hygienic and a nice fluffy folded blanket keeps heads from smacking concrete

Remember my first course guy got out a A4 ring binder Infront of the class and showed Random images of mangled limbs and scalped heads he sent 2 "home" as they went very green refusing to train them as if they can't stomach a photo they will be no use should they come across anything worse than a paper cut .... One argued the case after her extra 20p an hour "I won't get injuries like that at my place of work"... The scalped head was a fall down stairs headbutting a filing cabinet..... She soon cleared off..
